Family Literacy programs are unique that they provide learning opportunities for the entire family. Parents come to school with their young children so that they can become partners in their children's education and the family will value the importance of literacy.
There are 4 components to Family Literacy:
- Adult Education - English skills, literacy skills, workforce readiness, and GED prep
- Early Childhood Education - Early Literacy skills and kindergarten readiness
- Parenting - workshops topics include: health literacy, financial literacy, discipline, FCAT help, homework help tips, choosing the right book for your children
- PACT Time (Parent & Child Together) - Parents work with their children modeling reading skills and enhancing effective communication.
